yesterday i visited hamburg and it’s most exciting development the elbe philharmonic by herzog & de meuron. i was always curious how will they materialise that airy facade we saw on renderings - and it looks a bit bolder and darker than i expected. still i have no doubt it will make great contrast to brick base of existing warehouse, and no doubt in masters.

i never got to share my excitement about de Young museum by H&deM in san francisco i visited about a year ago. beside being a excellent response to californian landscape, it is one of the most beautifully designed façades i’ve ever seen
last week’s highlight was definitely being in the jury for supernatural eco pavilion competition. we spent a sunday afternoon in upper floor of Grad reviewing almost 100 entries. it was a pleasure to be in such great company /Brana Mitrovic, Djordje Stojanovic, Grozdana Sisovic and Vladimir Nikolic + Dunja and Srdjan/ and almost all decisions were very clear and undoubted. last weekend in october was traditionally reserved for days of oris in zagreb - great line up this year.
one of these year’s highlights was certainly mister edouard francois - successful and coherent interpretation of eco sustainable architecture combined with his dashing way of telling stores. very contagious. tres bien
now we hope we’ll get the chance to have him here in belgrade.

last week pavle and i payed a visit to architectural mecca - which appeared to be amazingly comfortable place - cosy, yet very urban. city’s architects nurture its nonchalant image by often leaving things unfinished - and it all looks like big lab. it was inspiring to see so many fantasies being realized.

supernatural pallets
project of recyclable stands made with pavle for supernatural festival - supposed to represent sustainable character throughout choice of materials and building philosophy. pallets used here were borrowed, mounted in a way they remain undamaged - by adding wooden beams trough them - and returned after the festival.
