node 10 exibition
forum for digital arts - node 10 had exhibition opening last night in frankfurter kunstverein named ‘abstrakt Abstrakt - the systematized world’. exhibition shows interesting selection of artwork emerging from realm of programming. my favorites would be zimoun, his simple yet effective kinetic installation, but also his overall minimal aesthetic; ben fry’s ’all...

under construction
yesterday i visited hamburg and it’s most exciting development the elbe philharmonic by herzog & de meuron. i was always curious how will they materialise that airy facade we saw on renderings - and it looks a bit bolder and darker than i expected. still i have no doubt it will make great contrast to brick base of existing warehouse, and no doubt in masters.  my travel companion finn,...

i love these guys from softlab. video shows genius idea how to raise funds for their ongoing exhibition – beautiful polychrome structure called CHROMAtex - in Bridge gallery, NYC. all of their other stuff are also more than worth your time.

i’m in love with berlin based artist/genius Olafur Eliasson. i came across his weather project and 2007 serpentine gallery earlier, but this week i had a chance to see his huge exhibition in martin-gropius-bau in berlin. his work, mostly inspired by berlin, left me absolutely breathless - he uses natural phenomenons such as refraction of light, reflecting surfaces and fog up to optical...

photo: edouard francois yesterday we - meaning supernatural and bunch of architects gathered around it - had monsieur edouard francois as a guest. he was in belgrade for a day to hold, what appeared to be very inspiring presentation of his overall work in architecture, landscape architecture and design. one of those lectures with spontaneous applauses and loads of laughter. judging by number of...

this week’s highlight were definitely lectures during supernatural workshop, where i got to hear and meet amazing young and talented people, such as tatjana from expeditio and natasa and jugoslava from studio od-do. i also met branko from my old time favourite antipod studio. and let’s not forget to mention djordje from 4of7 and grozdana from re:act, i think two most prominent and...

i never got to share my excitement about de Young museum by H&deM in san francisco i visited about a year ago. beside being a excellent response to californian landscape, it is one of the most beautifully designed façades i’ve ever seen

last week’s highlight was definitely being in the jury for supernatural eco pavilion competition. we spent a sunday afternoon in upper floor of Grad reviewing almost 100 entries. it was a pleasure to be in such great company /Brana Mitrovic, Djordje Stojanovic, Grozdana Sisovic and Vladimir Nikolic + Dunja and Srdjan/ and almost all decisions were very clear and undoubted. After one more...

last weekend in october was traditionally reserved for days of oris in zagreb - great line up this year. one of these year’s highlights was certainly mister edouard francois - successful and coherent interpretation of eco sustainable architecture combined with his dashing way of telling stores. very contagious. tres bien now we hope we’ll get the chance to have him here in belgrade. ...

smart clubbing
while in rotterdam, we had a night out in watt - sustainable dance club! former club has undergone major changes, including implementation of many sustainable features such as a dance floor that generates energy from people dancing on it (which we didn’t get to see because it was on tour!), reception system for rain water, minimal waste bars. and beyond being smart, the club is also being...

rotterdam pilgrimage
last week pavle and i payed a visit to architectural mecca - which appeared to be amazingly comfortable place - cosy, yet very urban. city’s architects nurture its nonchalant image by often leaving things unfinished - and it all looks like big lab. it was inspiring to see so many fantasies being realized. some fragments of the trip:

Vlada Nikolic has an exibition called ‘Voice over’ opening on friday 24.09 in Salon of Museum of Contemporary Art. I like his contemplations and doubts about contemporary art, as well as other works, all very smart, straight forward and devoid of bullshit and pseudo-intellectualization

speaking of urban stripes - i stumbled upon french artist Agathe de Bailliencourt I liked the way she spontaneously intervenes in physical space - here in the cellar of the Hugo Boss Orange store in Berlin by using only line and colour.

urban stripes
workshop tutored along with pavle and ivan at easa 2007 elefsina, greece. the concept of this workshop is to search for, and reestablish forgotten urban surroundings or to distinguish and label new ones. we wanted to do large scale interventions in open space using basic graphic tool: the line. lines and signs would guide public space users from one city ambient to another announcing...
